Rules

  1. Attire—Face Mask wearing is up to the parent. I will support whatever decision you make.
  • Ballet—solid color leotard, tights, pink ballet shoes. Short ballet skirts allowed and ballet sweaters allowed in cold weather.
  • Tap—solid color leotard, tights, black tap shoes. Bike shorts or leggings are allowed.
  • Jazz—solid color leotard, tights, tan jazz shoes. Bike shorts or leggings are allowed.
  • Lyrical, pom pom, baton, musical theater, hip-hop—same as jazz.

Tights, not nylons, must be worn by all students. No t-shirts or windshorts will be allowed in class. Proper dance shoes must be worn for all classes. Anyone not wearing the proper attire, including shoes, or not having the proper equipment will be asked to sit out.

 

  1. Hair must be pulled up securely into a ponytail with a hair rubber band. No clips, scrunchies, or headbands. Short hair must be securely pulled back from face.
  2. No jewelry is to be worn. No underwear under the tights.
  3. Anyone more than 15 minutes late will not be allowed in the classroom.
  4. All students mush wash hands before entering the classroom. Temperatures will be taken and logged upon entry and must have a parent signature.
  5. Please be on time to pick up your child. They tend to get worried when you are not there! Students will not be allowed to leave the building without an authorized parent.
  6. Please email or text if your student is going to be absent for any reason, especially due to an illness. If you do not email or text, it will be counted as an unexcused absence. 3 unexcused absences could result in removal from recital. Excessive absences of any nature will be cause for removal from recital.
  7. Any students with a temp of 99 or higher, coughing, nausea, headache, chills, sore throat, runny nose, diarrhea, or loss of taste or smell will not be allowed into the classroom.
  8. If you test positive for covid-19, please inform Ms. Lori immediately since health procedures need to be taken.
  9. No dance shoes are to be worn outside the studio. No street shoes are allowed on the dance floor.
  10. No chewing gum in the classroom.
  11. Only water allowed in the studio space. No food, no juice. Also, please be responsible for your own trash.
  12. No parents in the classroom. There will be an observation night for you to come and watch.
  13. Please pick up your student on time. They get worried when you’re not there!
  14. A parent monitor is needed for each class (especially the younger ones). This person will be responsible for helping with shoes, bathroom breaks, and any injuries. All parent helpers are required to pass a background check.
  15. Students will respect their instructors and any other staff or volunteers, as well as their peers. Students must come in with and maintain a positive attitude. Eye-rolling, back talking, bullying, etc. will not be tolerated. Students will use appropriate language. Cursing and/or negative remarks are not allowed.
  16. Students will keep their hands, feet, and belongings to themselves. Hitting, fighting, etc. will not be tolerated
  17. Phones brought into the studio must be placed in the Phone Box. No pictures or videos allowed. Videos of routines for performances will be taken by the director and posted to the back office on the website
  18. Dance folders must be brought to each class so any handouts or information can be properly placed in there. These are like having your shoes. Folders have to come to class with you.
  19. In case of Director illness, special circumstance, or other conflict, Hermann Sons School of Dance Staff has the right to make changes to the schedule with timely notification.
